Ingredients
¾ cup rice
½ cup cubed carrot
¼ cup broccoli
5 pieces dried shiitake mushroom
3 pieces chinese sausage (lap xuong)
2 cups boiling water
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
3 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp sugar
1 ½ tsp bouillon (optional)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
½ inch knob ginger, grated
scallions
Directions
Step 1
1. Soak your shiitake mushrooms until fully rehydrated. Save the water to use for the rice, OR you can use fresh mushrooms and use a broth of choice to replace this step
5 pieces dried shiitake mushroom
2 cups boiling water
Step 2
Mix the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
3 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp sugar
1 ½ tsp bouillon (optional)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
½ inch knob ginger, grated
Step 3
Prep your ingredients like dicing the carrot, broccoli, slicing the Chinese sausage, and slicing the mushrooms. ALL of these are interchangeable, so use what you got! I also like adding corn into this :)
½ cup cubed carrot
¼ cup broccoli
3 pieces chinese sausage (lap xuong)
Step 4
Wash the rice thoroughly
¾ cup rice
Step 5
Add in equal amounts of the mushroom soaking water, so 3/4 cups, or you can substitute with any broth.
Step 6
layer the rest of the prepped ingredients on top, then add about 2 tbsp of the mixed sauce.
Step 7
Press cook, and once the rice cooker finishes, leave it CLOSED for another 10 minutes. The one switch rice cookers can sometimes undercook the rice when there's lots of ingredients in the pot, so letting it sit ensures that your rice cooks fully!
Step 8
Open the rice cooker and enjoy with more sauce and sliced scallions!
